How much do you want to spend? Faster modified motors cost more than slower stock motors. You will pay more for the best batteries, motors, engines, ESCs and radio systems. In general, prices start around $250 for basic 1:10 electric car kits and up for fully-loaded gas off road kits, not including the radio equipment, motor/engine and batteries/fuel. As with real racing, serious racers easily quadruple their costs by purchasing multiples of everything so they will have productive pit stops.
Associated Electrics makes several versions of its kits, allowing the budget-minded hobbyist to gradually move up to the serious racer versions as time and resources allow. There’s a kit for every budget, so there’s no need to put off your involvement in one of the most exciting and rewarding hobbies ever!
Associated race kits can be divided into the type of track they were designed for: off road, on road and oval. They can be further divided according their power: electric motor or nitro engine, whether pull start or non pull start engine. Lastly, the packages can be separated as unassembled kits and assembled. In most cases, our kits come in several versions, ranging from the budget-minded to the competition racing version.
