Which do you prefer, electric or nitro, and why?

I much prefer to race and run electric because of it's ease of use. I've had bad experiences with nitro, and my car only runs once in a blue moon. burned out glow plugs, tuning for weather and running out of fuel sends me to my LHS every week. electric, on the other hand is always ready to go, as long as the batteries are charged. although nitro is fast improving, electric is still my first choice. -Hasuki

This is a tough one. I like both very much. I guess it would just come down to run times. Electric you can run anytime, almost anywhere. So im going to have to say electric.

Nitro-POWER, SPEED, RUNTIME!

Electric, Not as fast but way easier to keep clean and easier to work on.

I prefer electric. I own a RC10T3 and a RC18T. very easy to maintain work-on and keep clean.

I love nitro..because of the sound, smell and long run times!

Electro! I love my RC 18MT I drive in backyard with my 3 1/2 year old son. No noise, no maintenance (except changing broken parts) and no one gets hurt if they by mistake get hit by the car. And it has an awesome performance :-)

I prefer Nitro because since i live near a large field i can run all day and only worry about the receiver battery. Also the noise of the engine thundering to life is pretty exciting!

Electric, firstly because they are quieter, smoother, they have less maintenance, cost a lot less, and in my opinion, handle better. Also, guess what kind of car has the speed record? Electric all the way! Dude

Nitro (gas truck to be exact). In gas truck the racing is tighter than other gas offroad. You have to be a better driver to deal with gas truck. I enjoy the challenge of finding the right setup, dealing with the track conditions and the mental aspects of racing gas truck.

Electric in the winter-time to race on carpet and nitro in the summer-time to race on asphalt.

I prefer nitro. I find it easier to tune nitro engines than electric motors. The power is also there from the beginning to the end of a race and doesn't fall off like electrics. I also like the longer races with nitro.

Electric, it's quick off the mark and has tons of hop-ups out there and a lot of possibilities. It's also fun to race my T4, B4, and Rc18T on dirt oval.

NITRO, all the way because they are more difficult to keep running so you don't get bored with them. And also the long run times are nice too. Mike

nitro-they go faster

I prefer Electric, as it not as messy as nitro, it is more user-friendly. It is also easier to talk and help fellow "Electric" Racers. You can always let fellow "Electric" Racers by maybe tru-ing a Comm, Soldering Batteries or just help with setup. Nitro Racing is fun, but everyone is too worried about what Motor, what Fuel, and there are too many Parameters with Nitro Engine Tuning, like driving style etc. One just has to look at the dirrection 1/8 IC On-Road is going. Most Manufacturers have withdrawn, like BMT, Associated, Neo and a few more.

i prefer the electric one, TC the most, because it's cheap and have no pollution.

Electric... because now days, electric cars can be modified to be just as fast, fun, and hardcore as nitro... and its a whole bunch cleaner... batteries can be recharged and used for much longer than a $25-$30 gallon of gas... and it's A LOT quieter.... so u can play from dust until dawn... that's how we do it here in Hawaii....

My favorite is 1/10 gas truck because you don't have to worry about the "battery of the week" or "motor of the week". If you have a decent engine and take care of it you will be fast all summer long (no need to bother with the dilemma of whether to enter stock or/and modified with your friends) and can stay competitive and just have fun, which is what racing is supposed to be all about. I've had so much fun with my RC10GT and like it because it is so easy to work on compared to the "newer technology" and even though it's been around longer than the newer trucks out there it's still fast and a blast to drive.

My friend just got the electric T4 and it looks so good though and he's trying to talk me into getting one too, and he almost has me convinced, but every time I think about getting one (along with the latest electric motors and batteries...which is fun and all but where's it going to end?) all I can think about is how I could convert it into a gas truck because nitro's where I have the most fun. That's the one downside of nitro, that the electric version comes out first and it teases you so bad because you want one but "deep down what I really want is the gas version".

Well to start out you would want to purchase an electric, but as you go up in skill level you could eventually start driving nitro.
