Based on what you know now, if you were to start again in RC, what would you do differently?

focus on one kind of racing at on time also buy high quality equipment, that way as you get better you will all ready have good stuff when you are up to its quality!

purchase an rc vehicle from a company that has a history of the same basic model so that in 5-yrs 10 or even 15-yrs you know that parts and customer service will still be available. WOW! [sounds like i am talking about AE.]

stay with one brand of RC vehicle [AE]. stay away from all the hop ups by companies that don't manufacture that specific RC, most all of their stuff is in the long run inferior and a waste of money when compared to the factory, stock or hop up items

Buy the best from the start.....I have spent lots of cash upgrading cheaper quality cars with basic hop ups such as bearings, aluminum shocks, better radio , etc etc... Now when ever i buy a kit, i be sure and get the factory team model or whatever the best available kit may be at the time.....It saves you the time of having to replace the parts later, Also the tend to have much more durable parts....So i guess that's where the term "You get what you pay for" comes into play.....But all in all i have had a great time with RC cars in general, Whether it was a cheap Tyco RC or a pro level associated kit......Lots of fun and something i will carry on to my children when and if i ever have any......

I would have researched the hobby more instead of going in and making a fool of myself with a toy. Gotta say I LOVE MY TC4!!! Chris, Ohio

I would get all the upgrades right away since I new what breaks a lot.

My first car would have been a rc10 instead of a grasshopper. learned quick nothing beats ASSOCIATED CARS. I now have a b2, b3, t3, and a t4-- next is a b4 team. THANKS FOR THE BEST!! MIKE G.

I would of started out with an ae car in the first place

bought a kit. i like to build stuff. plus it comes with kool blue things.. ooo shiny :D

Buy better equipment (speed controller, radio, servos, batteries)

I would have bought numerous NIB models and sold them on EBAY.

I would start in gas instead of electric and I would take the buggy route. I race better with the buggy and I race better with gas. Plus they are more fun.

I wouldn't start with a toy from the supermarket, I would start with a RTR-model. Greetings from the wild south of Germany tobpho

RACE, RACE, RACE! Better chance for a sponsorship equals a better chance at a career in the industry. In '88 I had no idea it would be this big 15 years later. Chip Centerburg, OH

Would have got cars that I would race. And wouldn't buy cars that I didn't know where to race and couldn't race.

If i had to Start again in a RC i would have to build a car from ground up cause buying them complete don't give out as much power as if you but a lot of parts and put them together and make your own and then i would race for cars and win others like i do here in Joplin Missouri that's what i would have done differently.

started with new equipment instead of buying used.

not start with nitro. It bothered me greatly that i couldn't just go out and run; I would need to spend the next 15 to 20 minutes trying to get the engine up to temp and tuned. Go brushless: Electric instantaniousness (is that a word?) and nitro speed!

Invest extra coin in higher quality products. There is a difference in plastics. Although it all looks black, poor quality plastic mixed with cheap screws equals stripped holes, loose parts, lost parts, and lost races. Don't waste your money on a 'flash in the pan' upgrade. Just because it's a good deal doesn't make it a good idea.

I would have gotten a TC4.

I would start again in RC aircraft but would start with the micro stuff instead of the larger nitro birds. I would have gotten off road cars/trucks first instead of on-road, the region of the country I live in does not support a lot of touring car racing. Off road is very big.

sit tight and wait for the RC18T to be released.

I would start racing from the start.

If I had to do it over again, I would have gone straight into nitro. I started off with electrics, and yes, I had a lot of fun with them. However once I got my first nitro experience, there was simply no comparison.

I would read the break in instructions more thoroughly and take more time building the kit.
