Some of you stay with one brand of R/C, some of you go back and forth. What are some of the reasons racers stay or switch?

Reliability, ease of maintenance, Excellent construction, Proven performance, Vast array of upgrades. And it WINS. That's why I stick with the RC10GT year after year

if another company brings out a new car and it is better or it has something very special. another reason is if your current chassis is too old than you may upgrade to a different brand or you aren't happy with the brand you have now.

The reason I stay is durability. When I change brands I tend to break parts that never fail with Associated, and I'm able to repair most Associated chassis without the instructions.

It is because you can get better support.

The reason many people stay loyal to certain brands is history and tradition. I am having a tough time trying to remember an uncompetitive chassis Associated has built. Losi as well. These two companies in particular, have a tradition of building no no-nonsense, gimmick-free racers. Many of the people who switch brands want the latest, greatest wonder machine, and are often disappointed by poor parts support or substandard durability. I stick to the proven brands, who always release well thought out and tested products.

I stay with Team Associated since I have so many extra parts that can be switched back in forth in all 6 of my cars. These cars are easy to work on and run faster than most out there.

I tend to show brand loyalty until it hurts me on the track. If I buy a product and like it I tend to stick with that brand for a long while.

If some new kit comes out and people start winning with them it seems the locals here all go out and buy that car. It doesn't matter that the driver with the new car can drive anything to a winning spot. Last year everyone seemed to like the hpi pro 4 now its the xray. I bought a TC4 because I've seen it win on several tracks. I don't usually switch makers for the same class car but do switch sometimes if I am getting a different class of car.

I am a firm believer in the lemon theory. I have seen first hand several cars and trucks come right out of the box and run poorly. While at the same time I have seen cars and trucks that perform exceptionally. Generally, if your first r/c vehicle is one of the exceptional ones, you are pretty dedicated to that brand. While on the other hand if you get a bad one, you will most likely change brands if you stay in the hobby. Real racers follow the trends set by those who perform at the track.

most not all factory drivers do it for money, some go with the newest thing whoever puts out a new car they will buy. others just do it for a change of pace

I feel as is most of the brand switching is due to peer pressure, ie, local racers and the local hobby shop, seems like hobby shops push one brand mainly cause it's their favorite or they make the most profit from it, also switching may be due to what ever company won the last major race then racers seem to think it's their cars fault not their skill that prevents them from winning so off they go to buy that winning car but most of the winning drivers stay with one brand and work on skill not on how fast they can spend money nuff said!

If one of my cars is a a certain brand and never beaks down i keep choosing the same name brand.

Some stay with one brand due to known qualities: Parts Availability, Customer Service, Build Quality. I think most switch due to technological advances and product options that one brand has over the other. Switching is typically a short term thing. A customer will eventually stay with the brand that provides the qualities they view as important, tech advances between companies always eventually even themselves up.

I stay with team associated because my first r/c was the t3. I started to learn more about rc racing and when the nitro tc3 came out I got it. I've seen other brand cars and noticed that associated seemed to always have good kits for great prices and upgrades. other brands I've seen seem to have weak kits that r made cheap. team associated is the brand I stick with and when people ask what brand to byu I tell them I love your kits and enjoy this hobby. you guys made my r/c experience an enjoyable one thanks -racefan8300

I stay with one brand because I already know the "quirks" of the Manufacturer.

Well I work with every famous brand out there (associated, losi, traxxas, and Duratrax). what I've done is got a 18MT and a the new losi mini LST and compared the cars and the people that race them, and the difference is for those that have been with one brand long enough they can't stand but to get the latest from that brand. And the amateurs, or those who have only been doing this sport for a couple years, will switch on and off with different cars to "experiment" as they put it. With me I'm with associated all the way and for me it matters with the championships, and AE has the most (I think). So basically it matters with performance and the bragging rights of who wins the main.

I stay with the same company for different classes some other reason people stay because they know how good the company is

Some people change because of new technical advantages and because they want an edge at the race track. others stick with what they know works especially if they get a good product or good customer service.
