I have found positive tips and other unknown to me input regarding the rc10 1/10th gt+ during races, practice before races, all this info has come from die hard rc10 racers, they are happy to share this information in order to keep the sport alive and interesting to all ages..I am 54 years young, and still learning the sport/hobby, And I'm having a blast teaching my grandson about rc racing.
How to corner and when to accelerate
Setup appears to be the key. It appears that the factory team drivers are in tune with there cars. Much like a real life (nascar or other professional racing) pit crew. They are in command of it's settings, car performance and details that take place off the track, prior to racing. As a novice it's difficult to compete with factory drivers. I have to rely heavily on natural driving skills and LUCK! However, as one learns to take racing off the track and get to understand the car better, the gap between a novice like myself and FT drivers can close rapidly.
Speed is not everything. In these days, many people look for high top ends. Sure, they move faster, but on a track, speed is the least of your concerns. What matters on the track? For stadium trucks, finesse, turn in, and the suspension. Finesse is needed to drive fast and, more importantly, without crashing. While the case tends to be a little different for 1/10 & 1/8 scale on-road racing, it isn't that different. Compare a car with a high top speed and poor turn in and braking with one of the opposite. They pass a straight-away, the faster of the two passing the other. Then, a turn comes up. Both hit their brakes. The brakes of the slower one are sufficient to carry it through the turn, while the other's are not, and the "faster" of the two becomes one with the wall. When you crash into a barrier, whether it be on or off-road, it hurts. (Trust me, I've hit one at nearly 40 mph). So think, next time you shop for that new engine, (while the old one runs fine), decide: "Do I need a new engine, or do I just need practice?" Trust me, your wallet, and your bulkheads, will thank you.
About how to tune and what lines to take
To adjust your steering trim on dirt and on road. an oval you make it so your tires barely turn and on dirt make it so you turn alot.
I LEARN TO SLOW UP and to be faster from it?
