1999 Question of the Week:

What two things do you love about R/C, and two you hate?

two things that i love about RC racing are when you beat a [competitor's] car and when you leave the track without anything broken.
two things i hate are when one of the marshals is a really fat guy and it takes him ten years to pickup your car. . .

Stuff I love about R/C. 1. The excitement of racing other skilled racers.
2. Making new friends at the track and helping out the newbies.
One more 3. Beating the [competition] drivers..
Stuff I hate about R/C. 1. "HACKERS" oh man I hate lapped drivers or slow drivers that don't let you pass without them getting a cheap shot at you R/C car.
2. When my R/C car breaks down in a race for some minor little reason or when I grab the wrong battery that was discharged and got a DNF.
One more 3. When them losi drivers beat me. TAman

two things i like is rc/car racing and how amazing little cars go 40mph
two things i hate about rc is it is expensive and spending money

The two things I like is it is the only racing I get to do away from go-karting, and it is a lot of fun.
The two things I hate are that it is so darn expensive and there are not enough tracks!

Love: Racing, seeing my car run WELL.
Hate: People with really bad attitudes, when my car flames out 2 minutes before the end of the main

racing and the competition and hanging out with friends.
Breaking' parts and spending all the money to fix em

I love the high speeds of my B3, and the simpleness and how easy tuning professional RC Cars like Team Associated is.
I hate the prices of good quality motors, speed controls and cars are and I really hate the short run times of electric cars.

I love the the ability to drive like a wild man, (prevents excessive speeding/illegal lane changing tickets during the week complements of the police). Along with no broken bones when you wreck.
It allows everyone to use their minds in tuning the car to varying track conditions.

I hate ifmar starts, BORING, this is radio controlled racing, you don't see this local full scale track racing, It takes away the skills of good drivers on using their better skills to work traffic. So many mains become more of hackfest because no one is use to running in traffic. Proper starting grid spacing prevents first turn carbon fiber piles of parts. 5 feet is plenty for each spot. Another solution is to reshuffle after every round so everyone runs with the same skill level. It allows people to concentrate on racing for position and good times. Just like in real racing.

I hate people who forget that this is a HOBBY, not a professional only elite racing series. (that's the worlds only) 95% of the people with rc cars go it for FUN and race because they enjoy running their cars against others on controlled tracks with marshal. (if only all the backyard bashers could train their dogs as marshal lol). Pure fun at a reasonable cost is why traxxas sells so many kits. Remember these are only toy cars and were their to have fun.

The novel is complete

Let's start with the good; I really enjoy racing, on a personal level. It's satisfying to see my lap times drop and my T3 improve with each mod. The friends I make while racing keep me coming back, even when I feel like staying home.

Now the negative; Seeing huge corporations . . . merging and ousting the smaller "Mom and Pop" companies ala Bill Gates and Microsoft. There are still a lot of innovators hard at work across the country whose products will never see the light of day as long as [competition] is making 25 versions of the "stock motor." The cost of RC racing is getting a little high. $25 for a set of rims and tires for my T3 every 2 weeks is draining my student loan fund.

I love building, driving and racing! But I hate waiting for the weekends to go racing and breaking parts! krkroupa

I love the competition racing against local racers and the big guns from the factory. i also love working on the cars and trucks and keeping them running and handling as best that i can.
the 1 thing that i hate the most of all is the racers that have an attitude when they come to the track and race.

Pros: 1.: the incredible speed of those mighty cars. 2.: the scaled-down high-tech.
Cons: 1.: Waiting for spare parts. (if they aren't in stock at my hobby-shop.) 2.: To less scale appearance on off-road cars. (should look more like the tamiya-buggies from the 80s.)
Michael from Austria, Europe
(I also hate charging battery-packs !!!)

i love the price of RC cars and how well they are designed. I hate how [competition driver] wins almost every race he goes to. . .

Love having a good time just racing and improving on my times.
Things I hate people who are faster that expect you to move aside for them (I can't get better if I am on the side waiting for everybody is faster than me) and people who yell at the corner marshals, for 99% of the time it is the driver's fault he is upside down

i like the fact that you must be mechanically inclined to work on r/c cars also one must be skilled at eye-hand coordination
the down side to r/c is.....its a solo effort, its not a team sport, also it has the power to overthrow your other hobbies/activities

The best thing is seeing your car screaming down the track passing everyone.
The worst thing is when something breaks and you can not run your car anymore.

Love; 1.) winning 2.) the competition
Hate: 1.) losing 2.) people who cheat

Love: 1) The fine girls that give the trophies at championships. 2) Hacking my friends truck during the mains. Hate: 1) Losing to a LOSI. 2) Brian Kinwald winning!

I LOVE 1. the speed of the scaled cars 2. the excitement of watching racers go all out to pass for the next position I HATE 1. the short run times and the long charging times 2. not enough tracks

I love the fact that I get to show off my skills, and knowledge of setups and things of that sort.
I hate the people that take it way too seriously when they are not even that good and blame everything else but themselves. I work in a hobby shop and the coolest people are the ones that own old Blackfoots that don't brake anything and don't cuss about their cars. The others buy 1/8 offroad monsters and complain about hitting telephone poles at 65 mph.......

Love-Not boring, can run when ever you want
Hate-Expensive, too addictive

i love the thrill. i love the excitement.
i hate the cost. i hate the little grinding sounds that you can't get out.

FUN AND THE SPEED!
PRICE, AND FOR ELECTRICS JUST NOT LONG ENOUGH RUN TIME! AND FOR GAS TOO LOUD! BUT HEY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Love 1) Close racing 2) Experimenting with set up changes
Hate 1) Whiners 2) Whiners

I love being able to tune both my touring car and T3, and actually "feeling" the difference each tweak makes. I am fascinated at how these small little beasts work; so fast, yet so fragile, yet so durable!??!
I hate having to order parts, wait a week for them, only to find that they are the wrong parts; short run times of my two battery powered vehicles. That ones an easy fix though. My next kit, no doubt, will be NITRO!!!! (hmmmmmmm.... GT maybe!!!!!) oh yeah I do think so.

I like the racing action. But I hate to lose and break

i love hanging with my friends and kicking butt with my b3 and t3
I hate how competitive some people can be and i also hate blue groove tracks!

I think i would have to say that the two best things are getting your nitro car started in the bitter cold and when you just finish your new Team Associated kit.
The bad things are when you put your new Associated kit on the ground and slam it into a tree with a 10turn motor in it at full speed and when you put your timer charger on and look forward to using your car and wait 20 minutes and put the car on the ground and it does not move because you did not plug the charger in the socket.

in nitro cars, the power and noise; they're exciting to drive

I love my RC10B3. I love aluminum parts for my RC10B3.
I hate not having cash to buy bad-ass electronics. I hate working at Dansey's on race night, hehe.

I love the Challenge and the Competition.
I hate the high cost and the too many miles to the track.

the things I like is: Its fun, exciting.
the bad is: cost to start up, and maintenance. It is worth the time and effort.

I love jumping my B3, and being with my friends at the track.
I hate needing to clean my motor constantly and people who think my B3 is "just a toy" -B3racerBJK

i like rc racing because it is fun but competitive on who has the best truck, but i hate it because it costs a lot, but it is worth it

Love RC10T3s and winning Hate cost, and those pesky out of control fires common in R/C racing Kurt Kimmerly

i love hopping up my B3 to the max. I bet i have every graphite and ti part for my car. I also love driving it because it is a pleasure to drive.
I hate the price of the equipment though. I have spent over 1000 dollars on equipment alone and about 600 on hop up parts. That is about the only thing i hate about R/C though.

Things I love about R/C Racing (1) A great opportunity to spend quality time with my Son. (2) Its as close to racing full body stock cars as you can get without spending 30-50 thousand dollars to be competitive. Trust me, a grand is cheap.
Things I don't like: (1) Losing (2) Coming in second (losing)

I like hanging' around with the guys talking, I hate the starting tire war that is going on (the teams make a new tire for every major event track) that you need to store all kinds of patterns and compounds just in case you need an exotic one to be fast. Less patterns to chose from would be nice. I especially hate that here in Germany ASP is legal. Driving should be up to the driver, not the electronics!!!

Two things I like about it is the speed and the the fact that i haven't been beaten once. The two hates are, when you've think you fixed it it breaks again. And the other is when your batteries run out too soon

The 2 things I like about R/C is Team Associated. The 2 things I hate about R/C is False Peak

Love 1: The amount of engineering that goes into these things. Love 2: The way they look with their suspension active banking around a corner. Hate 1: People who forget that ITS FUN! Hate 2: Only 7 days in a week.

Two things I like about R/C is they go real fast at incredible speeds and are fun to play with.
Two things I hate about R/C is you always lose those E-CLIPS and there something always wrong with your car. from

Two things I love about R/C are being in the lead in the the a-main and being able to build, and maintain my equipment to a level competitive with the best .
two things I "hate" are, mean people, and radio conflicts. By mean people, I mean folks who can't drive, and blame others when they crash or have a bad day, make things hard for others. Radio Conflicts, when someone has only one channel, and it matches your channel, they always turn on their tx by accident, somehow.

The two things that I like about R/C racing is you get to meet a lot of people and the second thing is it is really fun to drive and go off of jumps and to compete against people. Plus it is one of my funnest hobbies that I do.
The two things I hate about racing is you spend a lot of money into your car and the second thing is something always goes wrong when you drive, so then you have to buy the part and fix it.

I like tinkering with my RC12 and gaining the competitive edge with my TA.
I DON'T HATE ANYTHING IN R/C BUT THE COSTS! OUCH!!! it sure is hard on my wallet!!!

well lets see only two!........well that's hard to say cause I like so many things "about" R/C but if it were only two i would have to say it would be making "new" friends and "having fun" and two bad things .....bad people and bad sports!!!!!!
